This micro abrasive media will cut, clean and leave an extremely smooth surface that is bright, but not reflective. It is easier to maintain than steel shot. Depending on its size, this tumbling media can reach into small cavities without getting stuck. Use with standard liquid burnishing compound. Mixing different sizes of porcelain balls will produce a more refined surface quality.

Porcelain balls can be used in nearly any vibratory or rotary tumbler. This tumbler media will also not change the work surface. They generally cost less than steel shot and do not deteriorate allowing them to last for long periods of time.

Because of their light weight and relatively low hardness, you will have slightly longer cycle times that steel shot. Porcelain balls will also need to be "broken in" before use. For best results, cycle the media by itself (but with burnishing liquid) until a glaze forms on the surface of the media.
