This economy mandrel is great for forming and shaping solid bangles. The steel construction makes it perfect for heavy work. The mandrel is 9" long including the 1-7/8" tang that can be held in a vise.
This round mandrel tapers from about 2-1/2" (65mm) down to 1-5/8" (41mm) in diameter.
Note that although the mandrel is steel, it is not solid. It would be insanely heavy if it were.
