This yellow head mallet features a durable, non-porous plastic head that will not mar work or spark. The ultra-high molecular weight plastic is also highly resistant to corrosion or abrasion. It is heavier, harder and longer wearing than the plastics typically used in other mallets.

Great for use on soft metals when flattening or shaping without marring.

Plastic vs. Nylon vs. Delrin
The properties of plastic, nylon and Delrin are very similar. In general, plastic is the harder and more unforgiving of the three. Nylon and Delrin have similar properties. Nylon is very strong and can handle impacts. It can, however, mushroom over time. It can also fragment rather than wear down. Delrin is an acetal resin made by DuPont. Delrin is very strong and rigid. It has a high resistance to repeated impacts. Delrin will tend to wear away instead of cracking or shattering.
