The STH-1 Stamping Hammer is used to strike stamps and steel tools when a strong impact is desired.
The replaceable brass end will not mar the stamps while the steel end will strike with more force when that is desired. This makes the STH-1 ideal for striking design stamps.
The steel face on the other side allows you to deliver more forceful blows when you need.
The hammer has a very solid feel due to a steel rod that runs through the center of the padauk wood handle. Handle tightening is easily done with the hex nut at the base of the handle. The large, wide handle is not only comfortable, but it helps balance the weight of the head.
As will all hammers from Bill Fretz, the STH-1 is built for toughness and durability with all of the features and quality you have come to expect from a Fretz Hammer. The handle is made from padauk wood known for its beauty and strength. The head is cast from 420 stainless steel and hardened to 50HRC.
This hammer is 8-7/8" long with a 2-3/4" head length.
