Solderite soldering boards are heat reflective, clean to use, lightweight, rapid cool down and long lasting. Used to form beads of solder on and direct flame soldering. The solder board is also used to protect the jeweler's bench from excessive heat when flame soldering and to place hot flasks on after casting.
After prolonged use it can be easily sanded to produce a smooth surface again. It also can be drilled or shaped to hold findings and jewelry items.
This high purity ceramic material has a temperature tolerance in excess of 1700º F. It is resistant to molten metals and most chemicals.
The solderite solder pads are the same as the standard non-asbestos boards, but they are lighter and ¼" thicker. This makes it easier to punch pins, heads or other components into them for alignment when you are soldering.
This solder board is 6" x 12" x 3/4" thick.
Can be used as a heat resistant pad particularly during torch firing metal clay.
