Chromium oxide, also known as chrome oxide, is a bright green polish used on white metals and stones.
Chrome Oxide will shine sterling silver and stainless steel and is an excellent polish for knife makers. Mix it with corn cob or walnut shell in a tumbler. Just use a half teaspoon full at a time and run the tumbler. Repeat until the media is coated, adding a tiny bit at a time. Once coated, the media is ready to use.
For rock polishing, use with faceting machines, sanding belts, lap disks, polishing heads for flexashafts or Dremels, or can be used by hand (with a lot of effort). Leather or felt polishing tools are preferred, but cotton buffers will work well.
Use for Azurite, Jade, Malachite, Lapis Lazuli, Rhodonite for a gorgeous finish. Gives a wet look to agate.
Caution: Do not dispose of used grit, polish or rock slurry down a drain.
Chrome Oxide can be very messy.
Sold in a 4oz jar.
