These 3M Radial Bristle Discs are an abrasive that's superior to sandpaper, flap wheels, or other types of sanders, brushes, or abrasive wheels. The 3M bristle material is quite effective. 3M Cubitron and aluminum oxide grains are embedded throughout the plastic bristles so they work continuously are the wear down making them very long lasting. Their little, flexible bristles can reach into areas with detail and irregular, curved, or flat surfaces. Think of these guys as the best possible combination of a bristle brush and a rubber wheel. This mini size is perfect for use with your flexshaft machine or Dremel tool.
Bristle Discs can be stacked, so use as many discs as needed on your mini mandrel to cover larger areas. Use them like natural bristle brushes, but without any compounds (since they are already impregnated with abrasives). The different colors of discs help you identify the different grit easily and quickly.
Depending on the application, you can stack between three and six discs. The discs are very flexible, cool running, long lasting and provide a uniform finish.
* Woodworking - Woodcarvers can remove the "wood fuzzies" without damaging the underlying detail.
* Dental Laboratory - Use these discs for cleaning, pre-polishing and polishing of metals and acrylics with excellent results.
* Jewelry & Crafts - Jewelers and Silversmiths use the various grits of these discs, for cleaning, pre-polishing, metal texturing (using coarser grits), and polishing of precious metals.
* Die & Mold Shops - Cleaning metal parts and molds, especially hard to polish materials like titanium and valplast.
Coarser grits can also be used to clean and remove surface oxides, texture surfaces, and prepare surface before final polishes. The finer grits will smooth and polish.
These discs are 3/4" in diameter and 1/16" thick.
Mandrel not included. Use #43.128 screw top mandrel.
